ClearOut is available in concentrated form which can be diluted according to the job. For smaller pipes, such as sinks and showers, the 1:4 dilution is sufficient, however for larger pipes such as exterior drains and down-pipes then adding the concentrated product is recommended.

Safety Precautions
ClearOut contains caustic soda, a powerful ingredient that effectively clears blockages. To ensure safe use:
- Avoid direct contact with the skin
- Use in a well-ventilated area to prevent exposure to fumes.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- Avoid mixing with other cleaning products, especially acids or bleach.
- Immediately remove and wash any contaminated clothing.
How to Use
- If there is standing water, within the pipe, try to remove as much as possible before adding the solution.
- Pour slowly directly into the drain. The amount to add depends upon the size of pipe or opening that is being treated.
- Leave to act for a minimum of 30-minutes (or overnight in very difficult cases)
- Flush with plenty of water to clear the drain.

FAQs
How much should I add to my drain?
It is very hard to give an exact amount to add as it depends upon the type and size of the blockage. We recommend adding ClearOut slowly to a blockage rather than pouring huge amounts very quickly. The most important thing to remember is that the liquid wants to be in contact with the blockage so that it can start to break down the organic matter and dissolve the grease or soap build-up. This is why we suggest adding a small amount then topping up if necessary.
Do I need to dilute the concentrated formula?
When pouring ClearOut into a blocked drain, in the vast majority of cases, you are diluting anyway as the drain may be holding some amount of water. This is why our quoted dilution rates are quite generous to allow for moisture within the drain. If you are looking to clear a pipe that may just be slow to drain or to keep pipes clean then it may be better to use a diluted solution if, however, you are treating a blocked drain then we recommend using the ClearOut undiluted.
How long should I leave the product to work?
Again, this is hard to say exactly as it obviously depends upon what you are clearing but it is always better to try and leave the drain for a longer period of time rather than a short time before rinsing. We suggest that for general cleaning the area shouldn't be rinsed within 30 minutes and for heavier blockages leaving the solution overnight can be beneficial. When rinsing please use plenty of water and rinse around the area to ensure that all traces of ClearOut have been removed.
