The long bristle broom has a 24mm diameter wooden handle which provides very good stability and strength. With a 305mm wide wooden broom into which the handle is fitted making a solid base for over 300 70mm metal bristles. This broom can handle some very tough brushing and is ideal for sweeping roofs, brickwork, metal and other surfaces that require brushing prior to the removal of moss, algae and lichen. This broom is especially good for clearing Tarmac surfaces and removing moss before application of a moss killer.
The short bristle broom also has a solid wooden stock but this measures 220mm x 60mm and, as can be seen in the photos, holds 6 rows of steel wire bristles each of which are 35mm long. This wire broom is also ideal for sweeping roofs, brickwork, metal and other surfaces that require brushing prior to the removal of moss, algae and lichen. As this broom has shorter bristles it can give a harder sweep compared to the flicking action of the longer bristle. We feel that the longer bristle is better suited to rough or pitted surfaces such as Tarmac and the short bristle for smoother surfaces.
The solid wood head measures 230mm x 64mm and is 45mm thick. The wire bristles are 34mm in length and each broom is fitted with approximately 2200 individual bristles. The broom head is slightly curved meaning that it is as effective on shaped surfaces as it is on flat.
The curved wire broom has a wooden head, wire bristles and the handle fits horizontally into the head making it ideal for brushing walls, roofs and other shaped, angled or vertical surfaces.
The wooden stock is pre-drilled to receive the wooden handle. As there can occasionally be very slight variances in the diameter of the handles, some very light sanding may be required to ensure a smooth finish.
