Product Description
SP-Strip is a powerful brick, stone & paver cleaner which removes oil and cement staining as well as blooming on brickwork, general dirt and other staining from your exterior surfaces. SP-Strip is designed to provide a clean surface prior to the application of Baticlean CR and a sealer if required.
This brick cleaning acid is also very effective at removing 'salt blooming' (white marking) from brickwork. Once the blooming has been removed and the area rinsed we advise coating the area with HydroSil BS to prevent both blooming and moss/algae returning.
We recommend that once the surface has been cleaned, it is treated with Concentrated Moss & Algae Killer - Baticlean CR.
Product Specification
We recommend that the area is firstly be swept or wiped to remove any loose growth and debris.
This is a very versatile product and can be used at many different dilution rates depending upon they type of cleaning you are undertaking. SP-Strip can be used neat or at a rate of 1:1, 1:2 (product : water) for heavy staining (or for pre-treatment of oil stained areas) or 1:5 for general cleaning.
Application can be made in several ways but you must ensure that the container is able to handle strong acidic products. If you wish to spray SP-Strip then we have a number of sprayers that are designed to handle acidic solutions especially or CLEANER and SUPER EXTREME sprayers.
After application, leave to act for 15-20 minutes (can be slightly longer in cold weather) before rinsing. If the finished surface is slightly patchy then a second application, at a dilution of 1:5, will achieve an even finish.
THIS IS A SPECIALIST CLEANING PRODUCT AND WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU TAKE APPROPRIATE PRECAUTIONS TO ENSURE THERE IS NO DAMAGE CAUSED TO SURFACES OR PEOPLE.
SP-Strip cleaning solution will cover approximately 40m2 per litre depending upon dilution rate and the type of surface being cleaned.
FAQs
If I don't use an 'acid' sprayer what will happen?
If you don't use a sprayer that is designed to handle strong acidic solutions then, after a short while, the sprayer will start to fail and possibly leak either liquid or air or both. Sprayers are designed to work with different types of chemicals. If you buy a standard 'garden' sprayer then it is designed to work with herbicides, water or weak cleaning solutions. To successfully work with stronger or more aggressive chemicals then you should use a spraying unit that is designed for such chemicals. Should you require then we have a full range of both compression and knapsack sprayers to meet every chemical spraying requirement and every budget.
Why do I need to rinse the surface?
Rinsing serves a number of functions; as SP Strip is a highly acidic product it should be rinsed to ensure there is no accidental bleeding onto other surfaces. Secondly, the mechanical action of the rinsing can help to lift off dirt/staining that the SP Strip has lifted.
