You can apply these granules with a spreader or by hand. If you are planning to apply on a regular basis or to a very large area then it is better to use a spreader as it will enable an even spread. However, applying by hand is quick and easy especially when treating a relatively small area. Don't forget to wear gloves when using any type of formulation.
Application by spreader:
Mark out areas to be treated.
Apply evenly at 32g/m2 over the marked area with a suitably granular applicator.
Application by hand:
Mark out areas to be treated apply evenly at 32g/m2 .

FAQs
How is it best to apply Vitax Feed, Weed and Moss killer?
As it is a granular formulation it needs to be spread so how it is applied depends upon your preference and the size of the area you are treating. If it is a fairly small area or you are breaking a larger area into small areas then it is quite easy to apply by hand. This can mean either scattering by hand (remember to wear gloves and wash your hands after usage) or from a container. If you are applying to a larger area then it may be better to use a spreader. Mark out areas to be treated. Apply evenly at 32g/m2 over the marked area. Do not apply in wind, drought or freezing conditions. Avoid walking on treated areas until it has rained or product has been watered in. If spilt on paving, concrete, clothes etc., brush off immediately to avoid discolouration. If no rain falls within 48 hours of treatment, irrigate treated area.
When should I apply Vitax Feed, Weed and Mosskiller?
The ideal time of year to use Vitax Feed Weed and Moss killer is between May and August on a day when rain is expected. This means that nature can 'water in' the granules as opposed to having to water the area yourself. If you can't wait until rain is due then apply water to the treated area after application.
Are the granules safe for use around pets?
We recommend that pets are kept off the treated areas until the Vitax granules have been absorbed. If it is difficult to keep your pets away from your lawn then there are a couple of options; firstly, instead of treating the whole lawn in a single application, you could apply to half of the lawn then other half once the original has been watered in. Otherwise you could treat the whole area when you know rain is due or water the area immediately after application. Personally, I would apply when you can see the black clouds gathering and let nature water the area for you. This is easier for you, easier on your pocket and far better for the planet.
